The cheap-foreign-labor lobby tries to scare Americans into believing that skyrocketing food prices or food shortages would ensue without illegal aliens in the agricultural industry. The reality is that, instead of relying on and exploiting cheap illegal alien labor, the industry should innovate and automate – something which the easy availability of illegal migrant workers has often disincentivized unscrupulous industry employers from doing.
