Who can apply for the North Bay RCIP?
Apart from having a job offer from one of the above-mentioned employers in the region, foreign nationals will need to meet other criteria in order to qualify for the RCIP.
The job offer must be in an occupation that is under the region’s priority occupations list.
Candidates must also meet requirements regarding education, work experience, language proficiency, and settlement funds.
Prior to applying for PR, a qualifying candidate must get a community recommendation. For this step, their employer must submit an application for community recommendation during a monthly intake period.
These periods are generally during the last week of the month for the North Bay RCIP.
If a community recommendation application is approved, a foreign national will receive a recommendation certificate that allows them to apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for PR.
Applicants can also apply for a work permit while their PR application is being processed by IRCC.
