President Trump on Friday held a surprise press conference as he took a victory lap following a number of key wins at the Supreme Court.
The nation’s top court ruled in favor of Trump earlier that day in a long-awaited decision on his birthright citizenship order, which also limited the ability of judges to deliver nationwide injunctions.
The court also issued other remaining opinions, including one in which it sided with parents in Maryland who wanted to remove their children from classes that use books with LGBTQ characters and themes, citing their religious rights.
The court has also released opinions related to cases involving a challenge to Texas’s age-verification law for adult websites, a challenge to ObamaCare’s preventative care requirements, and a matter involving the federal internet subsidiary program.
In a surprise move, the court said it would rehear arguments in a case involving Louisiana’s congressional maps, which could impact the Voting Rights Act.
Meanwhile, Republicans are scrambling to move forward with Trump’s reconciliation package, known as the “big, beautiful bill.”
