President Trump announced the framework for a new trade deal with the United Kingdom on Thursday morning.
Trump, referring to the announcement as a “deal,” said it includes billions of dollars of increased market access for American exports, especially in agriculture by increasing access to U.S. beef, ethanol and other farming products. The specifics are still being finalized.
Meanwhile, at the Vatican, white smoke rose from the Sistene Chapel, indicating a new pope had been elected by cardinals in the second vote of the day on Thursday. The new pontiff’s identity will be revealed shortly.
On the Hill, FBI Director Kash Patel appeared before an Appropriations subcommittee, and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is testifying in front of a different Appropriations panel, both on budget plans.
