The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has announced it is launching a new Employer Portal on July 2, 2025. As Express Entry has become more competitive, many companies and individuals have turned to the OINP as an alternate pathway to permanent residence.
What to Expect
Existing “expressions of interest” (EOIs) will be withdrawn, and will need to be re-initiated once the Employer has registered the offered position.
- Key dates:
-
- June 20-July 2: system will not accept new EOIs
- June 21 & 22: all existing EOIs will be automatically withdrawn from the system
- June 27-29: system will be unavailable for all OINP streams
- July 2: the Employer Portal will open for registration
- Key takeaways:
-
- Impacts all three Employer Job Offer streams (Worker, International Student and In-Demand Skills)
- The ER portal marks a shift from an employee-led process to an employer-led process. Features will include:
-
-
- Online submission and management of applications
- Ability to add company contacts and authorized representatives
- Direct communication between the program and the employer
-
-
- Once the Employer Portal is available, employers will be able to register and provide employment position information. Only then will applicants be able to re-register their EOI.
- The newly registered EOI will be valid for 12 months.
